Pak Ustadz, Lebih Dulu Mana Nabi Adam Dengan Manusia Purba?

During these financially tough times, many people are struggling badly to pay even basic expenses like rent and food. If you know someone who is hurting, do a favor for them without being asked. Your kindness will not only be appreciated, but may help them get back on their feet again. There are many ways to help, and you don't have to be wealthy to do it. With all the stress in everyday life, a little help can go a long way. Here are some options to consider.
Someone's car is broken down on the side of the road
If you have a cellphone, stop and help them out by letting them call a towtruck or friend. Or, if they're out of gas, get them a little to get them to the next gas station. Whatever makes you most comfortable to do, it is better to do something small than do nothing at all.
Person in front of you doesn't quite have enough money to pay for their groceries
Help the shopper get his or her food by kicking in a few dollars so they can save face and get what they need. As long as they aren't buying booze or cigarettes, you are helping them keep food on the table and keep their dignity during a potentially embarrassing time.
If an elderly or disabled person is struggling to lift something heavy
Help anyone who is weak to carry their groceries, or take out the trash. After having a herniated disk in my spine, and being totally unable to walk for weeks, I know what it is like to feel that helpless when it comes to everyday tasks. Now that I'm healed, I thank my lucky stars. But what about those who can't heal? Anyone with physical limitations could use a little help now and then. Do it tactfully so they aren't embarrassed. Having someones' polite assistance is something we'd all appreciate nowadays, since it's less common that it used to be.
Do you have people working hard outside in the heat, doing labor like mowing the lawn or roofing?
Bring them something to drink. Anything cold. Just to give them a break from the hard work and keep them hydrated in the strong sun. Down in Florida, being outside for too long is exhausting. It is mandatory to drink fluids to keep from getting lightheaded or worse. No matter where you live, do something unexpectedly nice for those working labor jobs for you.
Donate a little time whenever you can to help the poor
There are many ways to help such as donating non-perishable food to food banks, churches who help the poor and homeless or domestic violence shelters. Those in society who are most desperate for help rely on these things to keep them going until they can get back on their feet again. Most of us are only a paycheck or two from being without roofs over our heads. Think of those who have no families to turn to in times of crisis, because they are at the mercy of a low-paying job, most likely they need that money for bills that they cannot afford to pay. Call your local 2-1-1 (public help number in the United States), church or non-profit organization and see what their needs are. Most of the programs for the poor are under-funded nowadays and can use all the help that they can get from private people.
Whatever you choose to do, your kindness will be appreciated more than you know by those who are down on their luck. You don't have to go to a dangerous part of town or put yourself in harm's way to help. Just use the phone and talk to people, or help those you encounter in everyday life. If each of us just did a little bit to help, society would be better off and it sets a good example for young people. We want our kids to grow up with good morals and values, instead of idolizing superficial movie stars who do drugs, get drunk and end up in rehab. So, to do your part, take action by setting an example. It will come back to you tenfold and it may just help one poor or hurting person out there sleep a little better at night because his or her bill is paid or food is on the table. It's all up to us to make that difference.
