Inilah Rahasia Dahsyat Surat Yasin Ayat ke-58 yang Jarang Diketahui Umat Islam

A lot of people who follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram don't know a lot about my past. They don't know that I've lived in Africa. They don't know that I've experienced poverty first hand. They don't know the looks on the kids faces when they see you, excited and curious at the same time. They don't know that my heart still belongs there, even after moving back to America for almost three years now. What I want them to know is that they are people, just like us. They laugh and play and have joy, just like us.
What I also want them to know is that I feel torn between these two worlds. It is, afterall, a different world there. Where toilets, running water, and basic sanitation are missing. Where children die from the most preventable diseases simply because they can't afford to see the doctor or they lack access to a doctor. Where they look at us (white people or Americans) and think that we have it so lucky. That they would love to change places with us and have us live like them for a day. Do you think you could do it? Could you squat and go in a hole? Could you throw water on yourself from a bucket and call yourself clean? Could you go without a refrigerator, oven or microwave? How about your iPhone, iPad or laptop? How about a pair of shoes?? Could you give up your car and ride on the overcrowded transportation with the locals? Could you give freely to the poor when they ask for your help?
As we celebrate American holidays, I feel hurt by how consumerist our society is. Valentines Day, where we spend money on flowers that will die, cards that will be thrown in the trash, chocolates that will go to our hips, and other useless items that will sit around in our houses, unused. Why can't we take that money and give it someone who needs it more? We could help them pay for their school fees or food for that day. Why don't more of us go over there and see it for ourselves instead of letting the media tell us what happens there? Because the media is surely biased. Have they covered more than just the wars and corruption? Have they visited the villages and played with the children?
Consider this a call to action. I want you to think about where you spend your money and where it really goes. Do you need a closet full of clothes that you seldom wear? Do you need to go out to eat twice a week? Or that daily late? Why don't you set some of that money aside for someone who really needs it. Who depends on it. There are several charities that give 100% of their earnings away to feed the poor. When I donate, I either donate to Kings Ransom Foundation, or to Compassion International. Do your research and find something that speaks to you. Find something that makes your heart ache. And then make it happen! Take action. We have a lot of work today to help those who need it, and we need all the help we can get.
