Giving is an artform. Like any other artform, giving can be practiced to be perfected and to be mastered. Once perfected, happiness is certainly felt. Giving is something that a lot of people have a hard time doing because they feel that what they have is theirs and they earned it through their own effort. You work really hard to get what it is that you have, but after some time, things start to accumulate, you start to have too much.
Things that you don't touch, you don't see, you barely remember that you have,be it that you want to hold on to it. It is not good to just keep whatever it is that you have that you really don't need, rather than giving it to others who might need it more than you.When you give, there are a lot of good things that can happen. Like they say, do good and good karma will follow. It's that generosity that we forget sometimes.
Mastering the art of giving takes a lot of time, patience and yes, love. There are many practices that we must follow in our daily lives so that this practices can have any meaning at all.
Giving doesn't necessarily mean money automatically. You can give anything that can be of use to the receiver. So how do you get started in taking the path of giving? Well, there are 2 areas that is a must to experience the totality of the art of giving. One is knowledge and the other is experience. Now if you want transformation then you have to move out of the area of knowledge to the area of experience.
So how do you give? There are a lot of charities online that you can check out. Choose that one that really support your what you believe in helping with. You can donate to the salvation army, you can donate to your church or just plain give to someone who really needs your help. You can donate old furniture, donate a car, used fine clothing and so on.
Everyday try to ask yourself, what have you done to help others? What have you given lately?
