How important is the childhood stage to every person? This is the stage where a person develops his capabilities such as cognitive, motor, and social skills that later will affect his production capability. According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, 42% of homeless children are under the age of five. The saddest part here is that according to child abuse statistics, almost 5 children die every day and 25% of the teenagers that experience early pregnancy are said to be abused children. It is also said that those who are more likely involved in drug addictions are those who have been sexually abused. The population of children who are experiencing abuse today are continuously increasing. If we will not set aside our apathy, more and more children will keep on experiencing the consequences of child abuse, neglect, and homelessness that may lead them to become incompetent and unproductive citizens in the future.
