Why is there a need to reach out? Well for one, contributing to important causes provides hope and helps those who need the most assistance. In giving and doing goodness, we can experience a deeper sense of joy that money can't buy. It is a fulfillment that nourishes our souls. It is happiness that is unmeasurable! Truly, a rewarding feeling.
But you don't have to be rich to give to less fortunate. Arthur Brooks was quoted saying that "The most charitable people in America today are the working poor." Also the middle-income sectors are more of a giver compared to people in other countries. But compared to the working poor, they give less.
